The Hitchcock Museum and Library invites area children and their families to participate in a Christmas Ornament & Tree Trimming Party on Sunday, December 10th from Noon until 2 p.m. Participants will create beautiful-handcrafted ornaments to take home and/or to decorate the Library Christmas tree. The Library is located at 1252 VT Route 100 in Westfield. For more information call 744-8258. This is a free, family-fun event for all ages! 

Join your neighbors on Friday, December 15th beginning at 6 p.m. for a fun-filled, family evening complete with caroling, drinking hot chocolate, eating donuts and visiting around the bonfire. The Troy Fire Department will bring Santa for a special visit with the kids at 7:00 p.m. Call 744-2484 for more details. 

All are invited to enjoy a community lunch every Thursday at Noon at the Westfield Community Center (North Hill Rd./School St.) A donation of $4/person is requested with the 2nd Thursday of the month FREE. Special thanks to Berry Creek Farm and its CSA members for once again providing a harvest of fresh fruits and vegetables during this growing season.   

  • December 7th – Juice, Baked Spaghetti, Roasted Vegetables, Rolls, Holiday Cupcakes
  • December 14th (Free – No Donation Requested) – Juice, Salisbury Steak, Mashed Potatoes, Broccoli, Image result for Happy HolidaysRolls and Vickey’s Surprise Dessert
  • December 21st – Juice, Apricot Chicken with Rice, Carrots & Peas, Whole Wheat Bread and Chocolate Shortbread
  • December 28th– Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, Salad, Bread by Dennis and Sue’s Dessert

A free RSVP Bone Builders Balancing and Strengthening Class meets weekly before the meal from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Following lunch join the fun and play Bingo and card games!

As mandated by Vermont state law DOG LICENSES are due on or before April 1st each year. All dogs residing in Vermont are required to be licensed in the town where they live. Proof of rabies vaccination is required prior to licensing. Licenses are purchased at the Town Clerk’s office.

Fees for licensing on or before April 1:
Spayed/Neutered $9; Unspayed/Unneutered $13Dog

Fees for licensing after April 1:
Spayed/Neutered $11; Unspayed/Unneutered $17.

For your convenience, checks for license fees can be left in the secure drop box next to the Town Clerk’s front door. Once processed your dog’s license/tags will be sent to you by return mail.

♦ NOTICE TO HOMEOWNERS: Homestead Declaration are to be filed each year by every Vermont resident whose property meets the definition of a homestead. A Vermont homestead is the principal dwelling and parcel of land surrounding the dwelling, owned and occupied by a resident individual as the individual’s domicile on April 1. If your homestead is leased to a tenant on April 1, you may still claim it as a homestead if it is not leased for more than 182 days in the 2016 calendar year.
