  Monday, May 29th in observance of Memorial Day. The
  office will reopen Tuesday at 8 a.m.

♦ ROAD CLOSURE: Kennison Rd. in the vicinity of the Sacred Heart Parish will be closed on June 4th from 9:45 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. for the Color-A-Thon 3K and 5K walk/run event to benefit the Troy School and Mary E. FREE BACKYARD COMPOSTING WORKSHOP IN WESTFIELD-June 22, 2017: Image result for compost

Plan to join the Northeast Kingdom Waste Management District Outreach Assistant and Master Composter intern Shannon Choquette and members of your community for a FREE workshop about backyard composting. Whether you are a seasoned composter or someone who is just curious, we want you to join the discussion with your stories and questions! Soil Savers will be available for purchase by district members for only $45! Discussion items include: creating your compost pile; perfecting your compost pile “recipe”; the science of composting; and troubleshooting problems. Join us at the Westfield Community Center, 59 North Hill Rd., Westfield, VT on Thursday, June 22nd from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. All are invited to enjoy a community lunch every Thursday at Noon at the Westfield Community Center (North Hill Rd./School St.) A donation of $4/person is requested with the 2nd Thursday of the month FREE. Special thanks to Berry Creek Farm and its CSA members for once again providing a harvest of fresh fruits and vegetables during this growing season.

A free RSVP Bone Builders Balancing and Strengthening Class meets weekly before the meal from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Following lunch join the fun and play Bingo and card games!

As mandated by Vermont state law DOG LICENSES are due on or before April 1st each year. All dogs residing in Vermont are required to be licensed in the town where they live. Proof of rabies vaccination is required prior to licensing. Licenses are purchased at the Town Clerk’s office.

Fees for licensing on or before April 1:
Spayed/Neutered $9; Unspayed/Unneutered $13Dog

Fees for licensing after April 1:
Spayed/Neutered $11; Unspayed/Unneutered $17.

For your convenience, checks for license fees can be left in the secure drop box next to the Town Clerk’s front door. Once processed your dog’s license/tags will be sent to you by return mail.

♦ NOTICE TO HOMEOWNERS: Homestead Declaration are to be filed each year by every Vermont resident whose property meets the definition of a homestead. A Vermont homestead is the principal dwelling and parcel of land surrounding the dwelling, owned and occupied by a resident individual as the individual’s domicile on April 1. If your homestead is leased to a tenant on April 1, you may still claim it as a homestead if it is not leased for more than 182 days in the 2016 calendar year.
