♦ UPCOMING SELECTBOARD MEETINGS (see Meeting Minutes/Agendas)
- A joint Selectboard meeting will be held with the Towns of Jay, Lowell, Troy and Westfield to discuss the Ambulance Service This meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 19th at 6PM at the Town of Jay, 1036 VT Route 242.
Additionally, the Selectboard will hold budget meetings on the following dates:
- November 21st at 12:30PM – To discuss the Highway Budget
- December 12th at 1PM – To discuss the General Budget
♦ DEVELOPMENT REVIEW BOARD LAND SUBDIVISION HEARING:
The Development Review Board will be holding a public hearing on Tuesday, December 2nd at 6:00PM at the Westfield Community Center, 59 North Hill Road. An application has been submitted by David L. Villeneuve Family and Roy Marble for a five lot subdivision on Ballground Road. Approval of a subdivision is subject to Conditional Use and Site Plan Review and requires proof of access by right-of-way and a hearing by the Development Review Board.

Public comments will be accepted at the Westfield Town Office or by email, townclerk@westfield.vt.gov, until 4pm on December 2nd.

Our annual Caroling on the Common event will be held on December 10th at 6PM. Join us for caroling, snacks and a visit from Santa!
♦ HOMETOWN HOLIDAY DECORATING CHALLENGE:
The Hometown Holiday Decorating Challenge is hosted by the Jay Focus Group and open to all residents of Westfield, Jay, Lowell, Troy and North Troy. Entry forms are due no later than December 6th, 2025. Online voting for the Grand Prize Award of $100 will take place between December 12th and December 19th. Lights and displays must remain lit between the hours of 5-9PM starting December 12th until December 25th. Prize winners will be announced on December 22nd.

♦ VILLAGE WASTEWATER STUDY: The next Village Wastewater Study meeting with the Consultant, AES Northeast, will be held in December 2025 at the 60% study completion mark. When the date is determined, it will be posted on the Village Wastewater Study webpage , the Westfield General Store bulletin board, the Recycling Center outside bulletin board, the Town Office bulletin board, and the large digital display sign at the Recycling Center/Town Garage. The Selectboard may have this item on their monthly agenda
(warned at locations listed above).
Village Wastewater Study – 30% Report
Creek Farm, and its CSA Members, for offering another season with fresh fruits and vegetables. All are welcome to enjoy the weekly meal at the Westfield Community Center, 59 North Hill Road (at School Street). The meal is served at noon. A $4.00 suggested donation is appreciated.You are welcome to order To Go Meals with pickup around 12:15. For pickup orders please call 802-744-5466 after 10 a.m. on Thursdays.

♦ TOWN OF WESTFIELD CLASS 4 HIGHWAY AND LEGAL TRAIL ORDINANCE: The Selectboard motioned to repeal the Town of Westfield Class 4 Highway and Legal Trail Ordinance at their September Selectboard meeting, with the intention to begin work on a revised ordinance immediately.
The current ordinance repeal will go into effect on November 21st, 2025.

♦ 2025 ATV PERMITS: The Town
of Westfield is NOT REQUIRING ATV PERMITS FOR THE 2025 SEASON. Reminder: The season begins on May 15th through November 15th. Hours: 8:00 am to
9 pm. ATV’s are permitted on town maintained portions of roads only. The road map and ordinance are below.

It is ILLEGAL to drive on a state highway unless it is permitted section of the VASA corridor. In Westfield, the VASA corridor runs from Kennison Road (on the Troy side) to Reservoir Road to North Hill Road to the Westfield General Store, then follows Route 100 from the store to Cemetery Road then to the Loop Road into Lowell. BE ADVISED, those who continue on Route 100 from Cemetery Road to Buck Hill Road risk being ticketed by the Sheriff or State Police. That section of Route 100 is not open to ATV travel.

The cost to print a watermark free record from our online portal is $2.50 per page. You are able to pay online through a secure payment portal. We have scanned back over 40 years. For older records continue to use the indexes posted on the Land Records page and email your request with the book and page(s) to townclerk@westfield.vt.gov. We respectfully request you only email requests for older records not included in our new portal. Property owners may stop in or call the Town Clerk for assistance.

2025 tax bills were mailed July 25, 2025. Any unpaid taxes after 4 p.m. on Thursday, October 2nd are subject to an 8% penalty plus interest.

♦ PLAYGROUP WITH NEKCA PARENT CHILD CENTER AT THE HITCHCOCK LIBRARY: The Hitchcock is thrilled to partner with the NEKCA Parent Child Center to offer a free playgroup for families at the library beginning Tuesday, July 2, 2024. The group will be held weekly on Tuesdays from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.
The playgroup is open to children aged 0-6 and their caregivers and will be held in our children’s room. Sara Guyette from NEKCA Parent Child Center will bring a snack, activity and toys. ♦ DOG LICENSES: Vermont state law requires all dogs be licensed by April 1st each year. Please check to see if your pup needs a rabies vaccination before the April 1st licensing deadline. A person who is the owner of a dog or wolf-hybrid more than six months old shall annually on or before April 1 cause it to be registered 20 V.S.A. §3581(a). You must have an up-to-date rabies vaccination to license your dog.
