♦ What documents do I need to get my dog registered?
You will need to provide us with a copy of the dogs Certificate of Rabies Vaccination in order to get your dog registered. You should receive this document at the time the dog is vaccinated. If you did not receive this document, reach out to the veterinarian or clinic that administered the dog’s vaccination and request a copy.
♦ My dog or wolf hybrid is spayed or neutered, how do I get a reduced license fee?
If your dog is neutered you will need the Spay/Neuter Certificate. We only need to see this certificate one time, and it will then be kept on your record.
Visit the Vermont Humane Society for information on Vermont’s VSNIP Program to get help with spaying or neutering your dog.
♦ Do cats need to be registered in Vermont?
No, cats do not need to be registered in Vermont.
♦ What forms of payment do you accept?
At this time we only accept cash or checks.
♦ I can’t make it to your office during your business hours. How can I get my dog licensed?
You can mail your documents and payments to us at 38 School Street, Westfield, VT 05874. We also have a drop box just to the left of the door at the Town Office where you can leave your documents and payment. Or, you can email us the documents at townclerk@westfield.vt.gov and mail or drop off the payment. We will then mail the license and tag back to you, along with any original copies of documents.
♦ I just moved here from another town in Vermont where my dog was already registered. Do I need to register them again in Westfield?
If you registered your dog in another Vermont town before April 1st, we can transfer the license from that town. You will need to provide us some basic information so we can get the license transferred.
