♦ NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Westfield Planning Commission
Monday, November 20, 2017 – 6 p.m.

A public hearing will be held in response to property owner Roger Audet’s Zoning Permit Application 19-2017 request to subdivide property separating the house site from the storage unit site. 

  • Property Address: 1628 VT Route 100
  • Parcel ID: 06-100-49.1 with 5.05 acres
  • Zoned: Rural-Agricultural District
  • A variance is being requested for the house parcel which will not meet the two acre minimum lot size after the subdivision.
  • A variance is being requested for the storage unit parcel which will not meet the building setbacks after the subdivision.

 ♦ WESTFIELD COMMUNITY HOLIDAY PARTY: 
The Hitchcock Museum and Library in Westfield will be hosting a Community Holiday Party on Friday, December 1st from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Westfield Community Center (North Hill Rd./School St.). In addition to local music and a Christmas skit there will be tableside caroling and a potluck. All community members are invited to participate.

♦ CAROLING ON THE WESTFIELD COMMON:
Join your neighbors on Friday, December 15th beginning at 6 p.m. for a fun-filled, family evening complete with caroling, drinking hot chocolate, eating donuts and visiting around the bonfire. The Troy Fire Department will bring Santa for a special visit with the kids at 6:30 p.m. Call 744-2484 for more details.

Special thanks to Berry Creek Farm and its CSA members for once again providing a harvest of fresh fruits and vegetables during this growing season.   

  • November 2nd – Juice, Pasta with Sausage & Broccoli, Pickled Beets, Rolls and Brownies
  • November 9th (Free – No Donation Requested) – Juice, Roast Pork, Scalloped Potatoes, Peas, Rolls and Apple Cake

 ♦ DOG LICENSES ARE DUE BY APRIL 1ST EACH YEAR:

As mandated by Vermont state law DOG LICENSES are due on or before April 1st each year. All dogs residing in Vermont are required to be licensed in the town where they live. Proof of rabies vaccination is required prior to licensing. Licenses are purchased at the Town Clerk’s office.

Fees for licensing on or before April 1:
Spayed/Neutered $9; Unspayed/Unneutered $13Dog

Fees for licensing after April 1:
Spayed/Neutered $11; Unspayed/Unneutered $17.

For your convenience, checks for license fees can be left in the secure drop box next to the Town Clerk’s front door. Once processed your dog’s license/tags will be sent to you by return mail.

♦ NOTICE TO HOMEOWNERS: Homestead Declaration are to be filed each year by every Vermont resident whose property meets the definition of a homestead. A Vermont homestead is the principal dwelling and parcel of land surrounding the dwelling, owned and occupied by a resident individual as the individual’s domicile on April 1. If your homestead is leased to a tenant on April 1, you may still claim it as a homestead if it is not leased for more than 182 days in the 2016 calendar year.
